The Oasis Spas opened in 2003 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Currently they have locations in Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, and two in Chiang Mai. Oasis Spas are moderately priced and in my experience provide consistent service. I did this review, unknown to the staff, on July 19, 2003.

I went to the Oasis location near Wat Phra Sing though both locations are equally appealing. Oasis is currently running a promotion, you receive an additional one hour mangosteen body scrub with any two hour signature massage.

Oasis does a very excellent job of making a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere for its customers. Both the locations in Chiang Mai are done in a traditional Lanna Style. The facilities are nicely decorated and very well kept. All the staff I interacted with was polite, courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable.

The Oasis menu includes traditional Thai massages, Ayurveda, warm stone massage, oil massages, and a variety of scrubs, wraps, and other treatments. I chose the one hour Mangosteen scrub followed by a two hour Hot Oil Massage.

I was escorted by the receptionist to an outside garden area where my therapist Koy was waiting. Koy brought me to a separate building with a honestly large treatment area and a connecting shower and changing room. The room was well appointed and quite pleasant. The teak hardwood floors added to the ambiance of the space. The shower area was spacious and felt as though you were outside due to the partially open ceiling and many plants.

Koy started the treatment with the mangosteen scrub. The mangosteen material was warmed and massaged on to the body with firm soothing strokes. The receptionist had informed me that the hot oil massage was intended to be relaxing and soothing. Koy did the massage with slow strokes, light to medium in depth. It was an extremely relaxing experience in no small part due to Koy’s well focused presence.

The Oasis fee for the two hour massage including the 10% service charge and 7% tax was 3178 THB or just under $100 USD. The one hour Mangosteen scrub was free with the massage.
