Alaska’s whales are one of the greatest sights on earth and an up-close encounter with them makes for a lifetime memory. Alaska is both residence and migratory spot to a variety of whales. Because of the abundant fish in the area, many whale species find their way in Alaska’s cold waters. The amount of stout in their system helps them survive the coldness nearly all year round. Beluga whales, blue whales, bowhead whales, gray whales, humpbacks, orcas, minkes and sperm whales are just some of the species that thrive in the cold waters.
